Third Party Evaluations

BRE Global Limited

BRE Environmental Profiles provide a universal measuring system for building products, enabling manufacturers to independently demonstrate the performance of their products. They also help clients, designers and specifiers to identify products that will best fulfil a sustainability brief.

Environmental Profile ENP 337 by BRE Global

INVISTA , the manufacturer of Antron® carpet fibre, is the first and only carpet fibre manufacturer to obtain the certified Environmental Profile ENP 337 from BRE Global Limited (formerly BRE Certification Limited) in 2005. Since then, it has been reconfirmed through annual verifications and recertified in 2009 by BRE. BRE rated the environmental impact (via ecopoints) of the production of Antron® carpet fibre as 15 percent lower than generic Nylon 6.6 fibre products.

Environmentally Preferable Products

Antron®carpet fibres produced in North America were the first fibres to be certified by a third party as ‘Environmentally Preferable Products’(EPP) in 2002, and they are the only carpet fibres to have achieved re-certification (2004, 2006, 2008). Originally defined by the U.S Government in Executive Order 13101 , Environmentally Preferable Products have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment than comparable products.
