L Ayers by Sebastian Wrong^® – a modern take on prehistoric layers

Award-winning modular collection by the acclaimed British designer Sebastian Wrong, who has given the traditional carpet tile a modern and unique aesthetic expression using digitally printed colours. The visual depth of L Ayers by Sebastian Wrong^® has been brought to life in an innovative process, where linear patterns are interlaced and emerge layer by layer, reminiscent of the layers of volcanic ash in the moler cliffs on the small Danish island of Fur, which offer a glimpse into our prehistoric past.

This unique collection of carpet tiles includes 13 digitally printed colours and two shapes – planks and tiles – that can be combined as desired. The colour scale was curated by Sebastian Wrong and carefully matched to allow for a wide range of beautiful colour combinations that go hand in hand with the design elements of a project.

The choice of color in contract settings affects the visual appearance and the long-term durability of the textile flooring solution. Darker colorways tend to hide stains and soiling better than lighter ones, often making them appear well-maintained for longer. Since visible signs of wear and staining are often key factors in determining when flooring is replaced, darker colors will most often extend the replacement cycle. As a result, they are generally a more sustainable choice.
