Højer Kontrakt® in Royal Danish Library

Description

Once again, Fletco Carpets has supplied stunning wall-to-wall carpets to the Royal Danish Library building “Den Sorte Diamant” in Copenhagen. We have been regularly supplying Højer Kontrakt® carpets in standard and special colours. This autumn, we laid around 800 m2 of the same quality in “Cobble Stone” (colour no. 230) in partnership with A. G. Gulve, the flooring contractor.

The carpets were delivered with the unique “Silent Bac” sound-absorbing felt backing. The absorbent effect reduces the reverberations caused by footsteps and conversation, making it perfect for large floor areas. To save natural resources, Silent Bac is made from recycled plastic bottles.

The 20,733 m2 ‘culture house’ on the harbour in Copenhagen is an annex to the Royal Danish Library, and was opened in September 2009. The impressive building is 8 storeys high, and designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, who won the project via a European architectural competition with 179 participants.
